In 1966, following the order of his spiritual master, His Divine Grace brought the science of knowing Krsna to the Western World. At that time, his preaching attracted hundreds of young men and women. Many of those disciples have remained in service to Srila Prabhupada, giving up any thought for their own future. Now those same young followers are aging and in need of a future refuge in which to pass the remainder of their lives in unencumbered meditation on Lord Krsna.  Such places are few and far between.

It is the purpose of the members of this vaisnava retirement planning organization to  ensure that these devotees will have a place to live with minimal concern for their material maintenance.  With this goal in mind, a number of devotees have come together to plan and execute the building of a retirement asrama(s) for aged and aging devotees. Our Vision:

It is the mood of the vaisnavas to serve Krsna in all circumstances. As we age, our material needs and circumstances will change.  Many vaisnavas have spent their entire lives serving in the temple with no thought for themselves or their future. Some devotees will want to stay in the temple; others will find it necessary to find other accommodations. We at VRNDA would like to be the Lord’s instruments for providing ongoing facility for aging vaisnavas.  Our vision at VRNDA is to provide a peaceful spiritual setting in which to approach the time of death. Our Purpose:

Providing Care with Love, Dignity and Respect

The Vaisnavi Retirement Community is a non-profit retirement center registered in Dallas, Texas.   It is our goal to provide residents with a loving caring environment that will provide residents with hope for the future.

Our Goal:

In the foreseeable future, members of the first generation of Srila Prabhupada’a family, as well as other vaisnavas, will reach retirement age. Although we do not think of vaisnavas retiring by material standards, their bodies will grow old and their service active service will diminish. The material nature will ravage the body and limit the ability of every one of us.  It will not matter if we are male, female, book distributor, pujari, or cook; the advance of time will take away our youth.   It is the goal of VRNDA to provide asramas around the world for these devotees who have dedicated their lives selflessly serving the order of their spiritual master.

VRNDA is currently working towards opening a small women’s asrama in the Dallas area.  We want to provide a setting in which a residents will have a choice of what service(s) they may want do offer. Some may want to actively preach at the temple or perform sankirtan. Some may wish to perform  puja. Others might wish to spend their time in sravanam-kirtanama. No matter what the service, it is the goal of VRNDA to provide a setting in which the devotees can maintain their spiritual lives without being concerned for bodily necessities.

In time, we would like to see VRNDA branch out to provide asrama accommodations for all vaisnavas in need. We at VRNDA needs your help and support. (Top of Page >>>)
